WILLIAM (BILL) VINCE - PRODUCED 37 INTERNATIONALLY ACCLAIMED FEATURE FILMS

In 2006 William (Bill) Vince founded a film program for youth at risk on the streets of the Downtown East side of Vancouver. Experienced film makers worked with a small number of youth to make a short film.

It was apparent that youth working as part of a team created confidence and assisted many to move forward in their lives. Bill’s production company, Infinity Features, was located in the Downtown East side of Vancouver at Cordova and Main Street. In his career Bill produced 37 internationally acclaimed feature films including the 2006 Oscar winning film “Capote,” which received five academy award nominations, including Best Picture. Phillip Seymour Hoffman won an Oscar for Best Actor for his role in the film.

Bill lost a battle with cancer in 2008 at the age of 44 years old. In 2009 his sister Lyn Vince established Intersections Media Opportunities for Youth Society, a non-profit charitable organization. Intersections Digital Media Workshop delivered the Program to 6 participants, now delivering to approximately 60 youth each year. Since 2009, Intersections has served more than 1,000 participants facing significant barriers to employment who come from diverse, marginalized and underrepresented communities, aged 19 years – 30 years of age.
